I am an accounting technician by profession, but an ardent person of computers. My interest lies in software engineering, hence I took one step forward to switch my career from finance to software industry, but I had no clue where to start, based on my research I found that web development is the best way to enter software industry, so I started acquiring skills required for front-end web development, I obtained decent working knowledge in HTML, CSS & JavaScript and completed few certification courses from codewithmosh & freeCodeCamp.
After spending couple of months in web develpment and working on few front-end projects frontendmentor, I realised that there is a lot more to learn to become a software engineer, I started looking for missing pieces that would make me what I want to become. I have come across concepts such as DSA (data structures & algorithms), system desigin, HLD (High level design) & LLD (Low level design), which made me think that these might be the missing pieces which I have been looking for, then I went searching for online courses on these topics, during which I found an wonderful opportunity to learn them in the form of Scaler Academy, I applied to it with a very little hope, since I don't posses any CS degree which might be a pre-requisite to enroll, fortunately I got a call from Scaler Academy, which cleared my mind that CS degree is not mandatory to become a software developer, I cleared the entrance tests and enrolled for the course on March 2022, from the day I joined this Academy I improved a lot, currently learning data structures and algorithms, I am able to solve almost 90% of the assignments. Classes on system design, HLD & LLD are yet to start, as per the schedule the course ends on Jan 2023. I feel confident enough that I can excel in this career as a software engineer.
